Late Ms. Shafiqa Parveen

Ms. Shafiqa completed her schooling in the village before moving to Leh for her graduation in Arts.

During her school days, Shafiqa aspired to be on par with the city students. But lack of facilities and sub-par education standards in Turtuk made her feel insecure. Her experiences inspired her to join with fellow daughters of Turtuk and start the Turtuk Valley School.

Her mission was to bridge the gap between city kids and village kids. She wanted to instill Confidence and Life Skills in kids of Turtuk and surrounding villages. Unfortunately, she is no more with us but her mission is still alive
