Ms. Zainab Bano

Ms. Zainab was born and got her early schooling in the village. She later graduated in Science in Leh.

Growing up in Turtuk, Zainab struggled with inadequate schools and unavailable teachers. She actively collaborated to establish Turtuk Valley School so that the children of Turtuk and surrounding villages need not face the same challenges that she did. She also wants to empower young women of the village with education and employment.

Zainab, now the Principal of the school who also teaches, has been researching innovative ways to teach Science and Maths.
